Étertánc, 2021 kezdőlap

"How many ways can you write about the role of the woman or the mother? What does it mean to feel like a Woman? To think as a mother? Edina Kiss has wonderful answers to these questions. It's a real emotional rollercoaster to read through Étertánc. Sometimes you weep with tears, sometimes you cry with joy, sometimes you are humming a lot and get goose bumps with realisation. Yet the stories are often ordinary. It is not the plot that makes them special, but the thoughts and feelings behind them, which we know so well as readers and which it is so nice to see expressed in literature. What they have in common is catharsis. Without which, for me, a short story is not a short story. And there is plenty of it here. You just have to take it to heart! And have enough Kleenex."

"If we were to say that this volume contains short stories by Edina Kiss, it may or may not be true. It is true, because aesthetically written, engaging little stories are revealed on the pages. And yet not entirely true, because if we delve deeper into the text, if we read it with an open heart, if we allow its content to penetrate us, then one or other of the short stories will become a teaching, a therapy, a spiritual guidance.
We get a glimpse into the workings of our family destiny patterns that span generations, the everyday effects of supernatural forces, the deep layers of our love and relationship conflicts, the possibilities of communicating with our bodies and organs, the world of graphology, the nature of altered states of consciousness, and so on. As a psychiatrist, I believe that anyone who wants to live a healthier, happier, richer life should focus first and foremost on deepening their self-awareness. The more we discover who we really are, the less unnecessary drama, suffering and dead ends. And this does not necessarily require a specialist book, a self-awareness group or therapy. Art can do this: it confronts, cleanses, transcends - if we let it. These short stories can do that too. The author's psychological and spiritual background, her life experience and her talent as a writer are the guarantee."

"Where does reality begin and imagination and dreams end? Do we know for sure which is which? In Edina Kiss's world, the one merges with the other, the other with the one, with complete naturalness. Her seemingly ordinary stories open up into a multidimensional interior space, where she is as at home as she is on the ground of so-called realities. She is a sensitive writer; a sensitive woman and she is a woman to the core. Her writings are highly recommended to anyone who wants a soul-warming experience."
